Good outdoor lighting depends on more than choosing attractive fixtures. These are the things that determine how the system looks, performs and holds up over time.

Beam Control
We select optics and aiming angles for the effect, not simply for fixture count. The goal is usable light with controlled spill and less glare.

Coastal Materials
Salt air, irrigation, drainage and seasonal conditions affect outdoor equipment. Material and connection choices matter on the East End.

The final composition can only be judged after dark. We return to refine direction, glare, intensity and the relationship between lit elements.

You may not need
to start over.
Older landscape lighting systems are often a mix of good fixtures, failed connections, poor aiming, obsolete components and additions made over many years. We evaluate what is actually there before recommending replacement.
Sometimes the right answer is a targeted repair. Sometimes it is re-aiming, a transformer correction or selective fixture upgrades. And sometimes a system has reached the point where replacement is the better long-term decision.

Outdoor lighting can work
with the rest of the property.
Through HLL's relationship with Home Technology Experts, compatible exterior lighting can coordinate with the control systems already used inside the home. That may include Lutron lighting, Control4 or Savant automation, astronomical schedules, keypads and whole-property scenes.
We also coordinate outdoor audio and entertainment when those systems belong in the project—but we keep them separate from the core landscape-lighting service so the lighting plan stays clear.

Choosing the right service.
Do you only take on complete landscape lighting projects?
No. HLL works on focused upgrades as well as complete property lighting systems. A project may begin with an entry, driveway, terrace or other defined area and expand later if that makes sense for the property.
Can you repair a landscape lighting system installed by another company?
Yes. We can assess existing fixtures, transformers, wiring, connections and aiming, then recommend what is worth repairing, what should be replaced and what can remain in service.
When is a dedicated lighting design phase useful?
A dedicated design phase is most useful when multiple areas of the property need to work together, when architecture and landscape are being developed at the same time, or when the homeowner and project team need a coordinated lighting plan before installation.
Do you provide ongoing landscape lighting maintenance?
Yes. Through Brilliance Care, HLL provides ongoing maintenance, aiming adjustments, repairs and seasonal care to help outdoor lighting continue to perform as landscapes and property conditions change.
Can outdoor lighting integrate with Lutron, Control4 or Savant?
Yes. Compatible exterior lighting can be coordinated with Lutron, Control4 or Savant systems, schedules, keypads and whole-home scenes through HLL's relationship with Home Technology Experts.
