Outdoor Lighting That Brings the Whole Property to Life.

Hamptons Landscape Lighting designs, installs and cares for exterior lighting that reveals architecture, gardens, arrival paths and outdoor living spaces with restraint. Through Home Technology Experts, lighting can also work with whole-property scenes, outdoor audio and compatible smart-home control.

Begin with the property

Plan the experience before selecting the fixtures.

Tell us which areas you want to use, see and move through differently after dark. We will help define the right design and installation path.

A coordinated nighttime composition

Landscape lighting should be designed—not simply added.

Hamptons Landscape Lighting provides professional outdoor lighting design and installation for homes and estates across the Hamptons and East End. The work begins with how the property should feel after sunset: the arrival, the view from inside, the route to the pool, the edge of the garden and the places where people gather.

A considered plan uses fixture placement, beam direction, glare control, zoning and darkness together. That is what allows a softly marked path, an illuminated specimen tree and a warm terrace to read as one property rather than a collection of unrelated lights.

What we design

Every outdoor area has a different job after dark.

A complete lighting plan gives each space the right visual role while keeping the property coherent, comfortable and easy to navigate.

01 · ARCHITECTURE

Façades, entrances and arrival

Layered illumination reveals material, proportion and depth without flattening the home or placing glare in windows.

02 · LANDSCAPE

Gardens, trees and views

Specimen plantings, canopies and garden layers are composed around sightlines from the property and from inside the home.

03 · CIRCULATION

Paths, steps and driveways

Low-glare lighting supports safe movement and a calm arrival without turning circulation areas into bright corridors.

04 · OUTDOOR LIVING

Patios, pergolas and kitchens

Task light, ambient light and surrounding landscape layers make outdoor rooms useful for dinner and comfortable after it.

The design discipline

Restraint is what gives the property depth.

Good exterior lighting does not make night look like day. It creates visual hierarchy: enough light for movement and atmosphere, enough shadow for the property to retain its character.

01

Views before fixtures

We plan what the eye should find from the drive, the terrace and the rooms facing the landscape.

02

Glare under control

Placement, shielding, beam spread and output are considered together so the source stays quiet.

03

Built for the coast

Materials, connections and placement strategies respond to salt air, irrigation, storms and changing plant material.

04

Finished after dark

Professional night aiming refines angle, intensity, shadow and balance under the conditions the system was designed for.

HLL + Home Technology Experts

The outdoor experience can belong to the rest of the home.

As part of Home Technology Experts, HLL can coordinate landscape lighting with compatible controls, audio, networking and estate technology. The result is not more technology to manage; it is a property that responds as one environment.

Lighting control and scenes

Exterior zones can join compatible Lutron, Savant or Control4 schedules, keypads and scenes. One command can prepare the arrival, terrace, pool and garden without opening several apps.

Outdoor speakers and distributed audio

Landscape speakers can be planned with planting, circulation and gathering areas so music feels even and natural rather than loud in one location and absent in another.

Property-wide Wi-Fi and connectivity

Reliable outdoor control depends on the network behind it. Coverage can be engineered across large properties so apps, audio and connected systems remain responsive outside.

Security and arrival coordination

Gates, cameras, access events and exterior lighting can be planned together to support visibility and a calm arrival without blanket brightness.

Power and long-term support

Thoughtful power protection and coordinated service help lighting, control, audio and network systems remain ready across seasonal use and changing conditions.

From zones to experiences

Scenes make a complex property feel simple.

A scene recalls a coordinated combination of lighting and compatible home systems. Each one should be programmed around a real moment—not around a list of equipment.

Arrival

Drive, entry and selected architectural zones rise to a welcoming level while gates and access systems follow the home’s arrival routine.

Outdoor Dinner

Dining and task lighting settle into balance, surrounding gardens remain visible, and music begins at a comfortable background level.

Entertain

Terrace, pool, paths and outdoor audio work together across the property, with control available from a keypad, touchscreen or app.

Goodnight

Entertainment areas turn off, essential circulation and security zones remain active, and the property shifts to its overnight schedule.

From the first site conversation to final night aiming.

01 · DISCOVER

Read the property

We discuss arrival, outdoor living, views, safety needs, construction conditions and how the property is used after dark.

02 · DESIGN

Plan the composition

Fixture intent, beam direction, zones, transformers, controls and coordination requirements are defined to the appropriate level.

03 · INSTALL

Build with care

Infrastructure and fixtures are installed cleanly with attention to planting, architecture, hardscape and coastal exposure.

04 · REFINE

Aim after dark

Angles, brightness, glare and balance are tuned at night, then supported as the landscape and the property evolve.

“It’s not just about lighting trees or hedges. It’s about lighting views—the way scenes unfold and how people feel within them.”
Vanessa Kordich · Lead Designer, Hamptons Landscape Lighting

Care after installation

Good lighting is not static. The landscape keeps moving.

Plantings grow, soil shifts, lenses collect salt and debris, and timers must follow changing daylight. Scheduled maintenance helps the system retain its original balance instead of slowly disappearing into the landscape.

Brilliance Care™ landscape lighting maintenance provides a consistent service rhythm. If an existing system is already failing, our landscape lighting repair and restoration service begins with diagnosis and a clear plan.

Outdoor lighting questions

What to know before the first fixture is installed.

What is included in professional landscape lighting design?

The appropriate scope depends on the property. A professional design can define lighting intent, fixture locations, beam direction, transformers, wiring or conduit requirements, zones, schedules, control scenes and coordination information for the project team. Installation and nighttime aiming carry that plan into the finished property.

Can outdoor lighting integrate with Lutron, Savant or Control4?

Yes. Through HLL’s relationship with Home Technology Experts, compatible exterior lighting zones can be coordinated with Lutron, Savant or Control4 schedules, keypads and whole-home scenes. The appropriate platform and level of integration depend on the home’s existing systems.

Can lighting and outdoor speakers work together in one scene?

Yes. A compatible control system can recall exterior lighting levels and outdoor audio together for moments such as arrival, dinner or entertaining. HTE can plan speaker placement, network coverage and control while HLL develops the landscape lighting composition.

Why is professional nighttime aiming important?

Beam spread, glare, brightness, shadow and the relationship between illuminated areas cannot be judged accurately in daylight. Night aiming allows each fixture to be adjusted under real conditions so the complete property feels balanced and intentional.

Do coastal Hamptons properties require different lighting equipment?

Coastal properties benefit from fixtures, connections and placement strategies selected for salt air, irrigation, storms, sandy soil and seasonal landscape work. Durability must be considered alongside the visual design and followed by periodic inspection and adjustment.

Can HLL repair or upgrade an existing outdoor lighting system?

Yes. HLL evaluates systems installed by HLL and by other companies. Depending on the condition of the transformers, wire, connections, fixtures and controls, the right next step may be repair, re-aiming, LED conversion, control upgrades or phased replacement.
