Lighting for Pools, Decks & Docks That You Actually Want to Sit In

Pool and waterfront lighting has to do two things at once: keep everyone safe and make the space feel calm, not clinical.

We design for reflections, sightlines, and water—so the view is as good from inside the house as it is from the pool deck.
  • Clear edges around pools and steps
  • Comfortable light levels for lounging and dining
  • Glare control for water surfaces and glass railings
  • Fixtures built for coastal exposure

Design Priorities Around Water

Pools, spas, and waterfront edges demand a different level of care. We design for safe movement, comfortable gatherings, and beautiful nighttime views.

Safety

Edges, Steps & Transitions

We mark edges, steps, and depth changes clearly so everyone instinctively sees where the water begins and hardscape ends.

Ambiance

Relaxed, Resort-Level Atmosphere

Gentle layers of light make the pool area somewhere you want to sit—and stay— long after sunset.

Views

From Inside & Outside

We consider views from interior rooms, upper levels, and across the water so the scene reads beautifully from every angle.

We Design for Safety First—Then Make It Beautiful

Codes, clearances, and common-sense safety are built into every pool and waterfront lighting plan we create.

  • • Clear visibility at edges, entries, and stairs
  • • Appropriate light levels near water and glass
  • • Consideration for guests unfamiliar with the property
  • • Fixtures and wiring appropriate for damp and coastal locations

Pool & Waterfront Lighting FAQ

Can you add lighting around an existing pool or dock?
In most cases, yes. We evaluate existing power, access, and construction details, then design a lighting layer that works with your current pool, deck, or dock.
Do you handle underwater pool lights?
We coordinate with your pool professional on underwater fixtures and focus our work on the surrounding environment—decks, paths, plantings, and the transition from dry to wet areas.
Will the lighting cause glare on the water?
We’re very intentional about aiming and fixture selection to reduce harsh reflections. The goal is a soft glow on surfaces and surroundings—not blinding reflections off the pool.
Are the fixtures rated for coastal exposure?
Yes. We use coastal-rated fixtures and components designed for Hamptons and Long Island conditions—salt, moisture, and wind.
Can my pool and waterfront lights be on their own scenes?
Absolutely. We can create scenes like “Swim,” “Entertain,” and “Late Night” and integrate them with systems like Lutron and Control4.
