Layered landscape lighting across a residential garden at dusk
Landscape Lighting Services

A property that works beautifully after dark.

Hamptons Landscape Lighting designs, installs, refines, and maintains landscape lighting for estates, gardens, pools, terraces, and urban outdoor spaces across the Hamptons, Long Island, and New York City.

Design first

Landscape lighting is a discipline, not an afterthought.

A successful system does more than add fixtures. It creates visual hierarchy, supports movement through the property, protects quiet views, and gives outdoor spaces a natural sense of depth after sunset.

Our work begins with the architecture, landscape, and how you live outdoors. From there, we develop a fixture-by-fixture strategy for beam direction, layering, zoning, control, concealment, and service access. See how our landscape-lighting design process works.

What we do

Services shaped around the property.

Each engagement is scaled to the setting, whether you are planning a new landscape, refining a single outdoor room, updating an existing system, or caring for a property that has changed over time.

Landscape Lighting Design

Site-led plans for gardens, architecture, driveways, pools, terraces, pathways, and interior views. We define what should be seen, what should remain quiet, and how the system should behave.

Installation & Nighttime Aiming

We coordinate fixture placement, infrastructure, and access with the project team, then return after dark to aim, shield, balance, and refine the completed composition.

Estate Entrances & Arrival

Lighting for long driveways, gates, entries, and approach sequences that improves orientation and presence without turning the property into a field of glare.

Pool, Spa & Outdoor Living

Layered lighting for pool edges, terraces, dining areas, pool houses, outdoor kitchens, and entertaining spaces, with comfortable light levels and discreet equipment.

Integrated Outdoor Systems

Lighting can become part of a larger home experience when it is coordinated with scenes, shades, audio, and control through supported Lutron, Savant, or Control4 systems.

Brilliance Care™

Seasonal inspection, cleaning, re-aiming, and system review to preserve the design as planting matures, conditions change, and the property evolves.

Landscape lighting being evaluated and refined after dark
The difference is visible at night

Installed is not the same as designed.

Daylight drawings and specifications set the direction. Nighttime aiming completes the work. We evaluate beam spread, intensity, shielding, adjacent fixture competition, and views from where people actually stand, sit, arrive, and look out from inside the home.

A clear sequence

From the first site conversation to continued care.

A composed result comes from a process that gives the design enough attention before, during, and after installation.

01

Understand the property

We discuss use, priorities, architecture, outdoor rooms, views, project timing, and the people involved.

02

Develop the lighting plan

We define fixture intent, locations, infrastructure, beam control, and a practical scope for the project.

03

Coordinate & install

We work with the wider project team to execute the system cleanly and preserve access for future service.

04

Aim, refine & maintain

After dark, we tune the composition and provide an ongoing path for adjustment as the landscape evolves.

New York City

Urban outdoor spaces deserve a considered nightscape, too.

For Manhattan terraces, rooftops, townhouses, gardens, and shared outdoor spaces, the installation must account for building assemblies, planters, waterproofing, power access, neighboring sightlines, and maintenance access. Those constraints belong in the design conversation from the beginning.

HLL coordinates with architects, landscape architects, builders, electricians, and property teams to install lighting that feels integrated with the space, not added to it later. Learn how we coordinate with project teams.

Long-term performance

Good lighting changes with the landscape.

Plantings fill in. Trees extend. Fixtures can shift. Lenses collect debris. A system that was balanced on opening night needs periodic attention to continue supporting the original design.

Brilliance Care™ provides a practical service path for inspection, cleaning, re-aiming, control review, and adjustments as the property changes.

Questions, answered

Planning your outdoor lighting project.

Do you provide both design and installation?

Yes. We develop the lighting strategy and coordinate installation, then return after dark to aim and refine the system. That sequence helps protect the design intent from the first plan through the finished nighttime experience.

Can HLL work with our architect, landscape architect, or electrician?

Yes. Landscape lighting intersects with planting, hardscape, electrical requirements, pool work, drainage, and other scopes. Early coordination helps protect fixture locations, routing, access, and the finished appearance.

Can you improve an existing landscape-lighting system?

Yes. We can evaluate an existing system, identify immediate repair or performance needs, recommend upgrades, and determine the most practical route for long-term service and refinement.

When should lighting be planned in a new landscape project?

Lighting is most effective when it is considered during design development, before planting, hardscape, sleeves, and electrical work are finalized. Early involvement creates more options for concealment, routing, and future service access.

Do you provide ongoing maintenance?

Yes. Brilliance Care provides ongoing inspection, cleaning, re-aiming, and system review so the lighting can adapt as plant material, seasonal conditions, and the way the property is used change over time.
